“Another Silhouette”
As I sit on this little corner that I own,
I begin to enjoy the tranquility of the moment;
And watched as the parchment of our story slowly burns...
What a pity!
I, for one, have not been able to sleep,
The gush of wind no longer provokes me,
It has lost its powers of conviction,
And so I keep my vigil.
As my flagellated heart beats rapidly in the night,
I toss and turn in the darkness;
Slowly, I’m sucked into your oblivion.
Will I be another silhouette?
Too many times have I been in this predicament,
And my heart may no longer endure.
Yet, I refuse to turn off my lantern,
I'll be waiting and hoping.
