Hanamizuki

Hanamizuki

To the sky you reach out your hand
The songs of the clouds
Call you to distant lands
To the wind you call my name
Carried to the shore
The shore where I wait

A dogwood flow'r, I'd give to you
A blossom then, soon come to bloom

May the dreams you hold
The dreams that shine like rosen gold last forever
I wish for you to shine above
To radiate your endless love
May it last a hundred years from now

Summer heat weighing down on us
This boat is too weak and so in me,
Please trust I will follow you
Please go ahead and I will be there soon

A dogwood flow'r, I'd give to you
A blossom then, soon come to bloom

May the dreams you hold
The dreams that shine like rosen gold last forever
I wish for you to shine above
To radiate your endless love
May it last a hundred years from now

To the sky you reach out your hand
The songs of the clouds
Call you to distant lands
To the wind you call my name
Carried to the shore
The shore where I wait

A dogwood flow'r, I'd give to you
A blossom then, soon come to bloom

May the dreams you hold
The dreams that shine like rosen gold last forever
I wish for you to shine above
To radiate your endless love

To the sky you reach out your hand
The songs of the clouds
Call you to distant lands
To the wind you call my name
Carried to the shore
The shore where I wait

A dogwood flow'r, I'd give to you
A blossom then, soon come to bloom

May the dreams you hold
The dreams that shine like rosen gold last forever
I wish for you to shine above
To radiate your endless love
May it last a hundred years from now

Somewhere I have never travelled

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens;only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

Note: This poem, written by E.E. Cummings, is my most favorite.

An Englishman's Nightmare (Based on a true story)

Written by: Leo Lagnason
                  July 11, 2004
                 12:50AM

I woke up and you were on my mind,
Thinking of the way that it used to be;
All this time, how could I be so blind
From the things that bothered me?

My Refuge

Composed:  August 23, 2003 5:30PM
                   YFC West Sector, Combuild

I know I've been so foolish and acted so dumb
My spirit is weak and I feel so numb
Now in your loving arms I want to come
I want to reach for you, just even for your thumb.

To feel safe and be loved is what I wanted
From you whose love has never once ended
The horrors of this world makes me feel unwanted
I feel so weak, hopeless and devastated

But as long as I know that you are here
No matter how dark this world gets, I have nothing to fear
You were always there for me even when I was still a little seed
In this world, your love is all I need.

Note: This poem was inspired by the sunset and the YFC activity that we had.

Suffrage

"The Election I know"

Promises are expressed clearly
While wickedness is exposed
Arid minds are soaking wet
Clenched fists are crying for freedom

The voice is divided
But nobody speaks the whole truth
A cliché in every nation
Yet, people are still victims

Tambok

“Tambok”

Ako tawo lamang nga sama sa inyo,
Naa ko’y kasing-kasing, kalag, og Ginoo
Apan ngano man nga ang uban sa inyo
Mahilig gyud nga painiton ang akong ulo?

Kung maglakaw gani ko sa kadalanan,
Ang mangatawa pastilang pagkadaghan,
Ang uban kay mag-uyog-uyog samtang galantaw
Og moingon dayon, “Linog! Naay tambok galakaw!”

Another Silhoutte

“Another Silhouette”

As I sit on this little corner that I own,
I begin to enjoy the tranquility of the moment;
And watched as the parchment of our story slowly burns...
What a pity!
